First Aid for Therapists

This First Aid for Therapists course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of complementary therapists. It provides you with the confidence and first aid skills to deal with the most common medical emergencies that are likely to occur at your practice or place of work. The course covers:-

• Assessing the situation
• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation ( CPR )
• ABC of resuscitation
• The recovery position

The course also covers recognition and emergency treatment of specific conditions such as:-

• Asthma attack
• Nose Bleed
• Epilepsy
• Hypoglycaemic Attack ( Diabetes )
• Fainting
• Broken limb / sprain
• Heart attack
• Hyperventilation
• Choking
• Bleeding
• Anaphylactic shock

At the end of the course you will be issued with an "Appointed Persons" First Aid certificate which is recognized by the HSE and valid for three years.

This course was designed and is managed by Paul Dumbleton of PD Medical Training Services (right).
