Reflexology Foot Care Course

What is a Foot Care Course

The foot care course covers cutting toe nails which are in good condition and using foot scrub to remove hard skin from clients feet. The course is a subset of the pedicure course, and so only covers treating clients whose feet are in good condition and who have good circulation.

This course is ideal if you treat elderly or infirm clients who struggle to cut their own toe nails, allowing you to clip their nails as part of their reflexology treatment, or it can be used to add an extra pampering element into your reflexology treatments, including a foot soak and foot scrub to remove some of their hard skin.

What does the Course Contain?

The course includes the following:-

  •  Equipment
  • Anatomy of the nail
  • Consultation
  • Contra-indications
  • Presentation of contra-indicated nails
  • Observation of the feet
  • Soaking the feet and using foot scrub and foot file
  • Cutting nails
  • Filing nails

The course is based on the standard pedicure course so covers cutting nails which are thin and easy to cut and removing hard skin using a file on people with good circulation and feeling.

Case Study Requirements

Once you have completed the course you will need to carry out three treatments on three different clients. Treatments will need to be written up. Because client's nails will need to grow between treatments, treatments should be scheduled for once a month. You are therefore allowed four months in which to complete and submit your case studies.

Who is this course for?

This course is for qualified reflexologists who either treat elderly or infirm clients who struggle to cut their own toe nails, or who would like to add an extra pampering element into their reflexology treatments.

Insurance If you are insured with the AoR's insurance providers, (currently Alan Boswel) then this course will be covered by your therapists insurance. If you are insured by any other provider you must check that you will be covered before booking this course.

Cost of Training The cost of the bridging course is £55.

Additional Costs

Once you have completed the course you will need to buy a toe clipper, pedicure nail files, sterilising solution and foot scrub or a foot file.
