Indian Head Massage for Therapists

What is Indian Head Massage?

Indian head massage is a technique using massage strokes and pressure points to the head, neck and shoulders. It has been practised for centuries and is now recognised as a relaxing and highly beneficial therapy, working on both the physical and mental state. 

Indian Head Massage is suitable for people of all ages but is especially beneficial for you if you:-

  • Carry tension in your shoulders or neck.
  • Work on a computer for long hours
  • Suffer from poor sleep or anxiety
  • Suffer from eyestrain
  • Drive long distances
  • Suffer from sinus problems
  • Suffer from tension headaches

Hilldene Centre, West End, Southampton

Timescales

This Indian Head Massage course for Therapists is carried out over two full days plus an assessment morning. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for registration with a start time of 10 a.m. The course finishes at around 4:30 p.m. There is a 45 minute lunch break. There are local shops although many students prefer to bring their own packed lunch. Complementary tea, coffee and herbal teas are available throughout the day.

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for existing therapists who wish to add Indian Head Massge to their portfolio. Indian Head Massage is a wonderful addition for reflexologists and other complementary therapy practitioners. However, if you have an interest in complementary therapies and would like to learn this relaxing technique to practice on your friends and family you are also very welcome to attend.

  • Benfits of Indian Head Massage
  • Contraindications
  • Where and how to deliver
  • Balancing Chakras
  • A&P recap of the head, neck, shoulders and upper arms
  • Use of oils
  • Setting up your work area
  • Health & safety
  • Indian Head Massage Routine

Case Studies

During the three months following the course you will be required to complete three case study treatments each consisting of 3 treatments each.

Prctical Assessment

Assessment will be carried out after the case studies have been completed. Assessments sessions are arranged regularly.

Course Costs

This course costs £180.
