Jackie James Principal

In 2000 Jackie trained as a Reflexologist at the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology at St Marys' Hospital in Roehampton. This was followed by a course in Advanced Reflexology Techniques ( ART ) with Ken Smith, and in 2003 Jackie took a Maternity Reflexology course with Suzanne Enza.

Through Reflexology Jackie became interested in Reiki, and was initiated into the Usui System of Reiki in Southampton by Margaret Pauffley.

This was followed by an Indian Head Massage Course and in early 2005, Jackie added Hopi Ear Candling to her portfolio.

The Calming Influences Training School opened in 2004, using Jackie's business and marketing experience gained working for large corporates such as AT&T and IBM to help therapists increase their customer base.

Jackie regularly gives talks on reflexology and now this has expanded into the Calming Influence Reflexology School, where Jackie acts both as Principal and main tutor.

As well as running a private clinic and working at Cura Healthcare at the Hampshire Health and Tennis Club, Jackie continues her own personal development by regularly attending post graduate courses and workshops.

Alison Marks Reflexology Assistant


Alison Marks

Alison joined Calming Influences in 2006 as an experienced reflexologist to assist with the practical sessions.

Alison originally trained at Eastleigh College as a complementary therapist in 2001 and has a Certificate in Body Massage and Diploma in Indian Head Massage with the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies (IIHHT). Keen to expand her knowledge of complementary therapies, Alison then went on to train with the Susie Jennings School of Reflexology in Littlehampton, West Sussex and was awarded her Practitioners Certificate in Reflexology. Alison has also attended courses in Maternity Reflexology with Suzanne Enzer (2003) and an Advanced Reflexology Techniques (ART) course with Tony Porter (2004).

Alison continues to develop her understanding and awareness of complementary therapies by attending seminars and workshops

Chrisy Clampett Guest Lecturer


Chrissy Clampett

Chrissy joined Calming Influences team of tutors in 2006 to teach part of the Anatomy and Physiology syllabus.

Chrissy is a Body Balance Instructor with a speciality of Stott Pilates Matwork and Reformer. This gives her an in-depth knowledge of the workings of the muscles and bones which makes Chrissy an interesting and informative teacher.

Chrissy was a member of the British Olympic Windsurfing Team and has 3 World titles and many National titles under her belt.
