Essential Oils Introduction
For Reflexologists or Just for Fun
This blended course is perfect for those starting their journey with essential oils. You’ll dive into the therapeutic benefits of 14 essential oils and 3 carrier oils, learning how to safely and effectively incorporate them into everyday use. The course combines engaging online content with personal support through two face-to-face or Zoom tutorials, and unlimited email support ensuring you gain a solid foundation in essential oil practice.
Incorporating essential oils into your reflexology practice can seem daunting because of the vast amount of information you need to learn about essential oils but by using only 14 essential oils, it makes it much easier to cover. Our course is designed to help you confidently learn everything you need to know. The course is delivered in bite-sized modules, allowing you to progress at your own pace.
Insurance
Insurance coverage for the essential oils included in this course can be obtained through Alan Boswell, the AoR’s insurance provider, or PRS Insurance. If you are insured with another provider, please ensure that they cover this addition to your therapy practice. If you are taking this course for personal use only, insurance is not required.
Tutorials
This course includes two tutorial sessions which can be carried out at my treatment room in Bursledon or carried out via Zoom.
- Your first tutorial is for at least 2.5 hours and covers blending. You need to have completed your first 5 modules, received your goody box, and purchased at least 10 essential oils for us to use during this tutorial. This tutorial will make sure you are blending your oils and carriers safely and correctly, as well as creating some lovely essential oil products for you to use. Several students may attend this tutorial together.
- Your second tutorial will check that you are blending correctly and will include a review of your case studies and workbook.
Email Support
Email support in available throughout your course, so you do not need to wait until your tutorials to ask any questions you may have.
Workbooks
As part of this course you will be provided with a workbook covering aromatherapy theory, the 14 essential oils included in this course and the 3 carrier oils. The workbook is designed for you to produce your own guidance document which you use when you return to practice. You may only use the essential oils covered in this course with your clients.
Theory
The theory component is divided into 8 bite-sized modules, each accompanied by a short quiz to help you assess your understanding as you progress. The course provides in-depth coverage of 14 essential oils and 3 carrier oils. With access to detailed information on the platform and through your own research, you’ll complete your workbooks, building a comprehensive foundation in essential oils.

Using oils with your treatments
This course will teach you to produce client specific blends for each of your treatments. You may only use the oils covered within this course with your clients.
Completing your course
The course must be completed in twelve months. A Calming Influences certificate of attendance can be issued once the course is complete, and case studies and workbooks have been submitted and marked.
