Essential Oils Practitioners Course
For Reflexologists
This practitioner course is an in-depth exploration of essential oil applications and is suitable for reflexologists who wish to include essential oils within their reflexology practice (Insurance available from Alan Boswell; the AoR’s insurers and PR’s insurers). You’ll cover 42 essential oils and 12 carrier oils, learning advanced blending techniques and therapeutic uses. With a balance of online modules and face-to-face or Zoom sessions, you’ll gain the confidence to practice essential oil therapy professionally within your reflexology and other therapy practice. Once qualified you will be able to incorporate additional oils (subject to your own research and due diligence) into your practice.

Incorporating essential oils into your reflexology practice can seem daunting because of the vast amount of information you need to learn about essential oils. Our Essential Oils Practitioner Course is designed to help you confidently learn everything you need to know. The syllabus covers all of the essential oil knowledge outlined in the National Occupational Standards for Aromatherapy. The course is delivered in bite-sized modules, allowing you to progress at your own pace.
Insurance
Insurance for this course can be obtain from both Alan Boswell, the AoR’s insurers and PRs insurance provider. If you are with any other insurance company please check you are able to gain insurance to practice this addition to your therapy.
Tutorials
Your first tutorial is for at least 2.5 hours and covers blending. You need to have completed your first 5 modules, received your goody box, and purchased at least 10 essential oils for us to use during this tutorial. This tutorial will make sure you are blending your oils and carriers safely and correctly, as well as creating some lovely essential oil products for you to use. Several students may attend this tutorial together.
Following your initial tutorial, up to 6 tutorials will be booked for you to check both that you are documenting the correct information and that you are blending correctly. During these tutorials we will also check your case studies.

Assessment
Assessment consists of:
- Completion of workbooks
- Case studies, 6 people need 3 treatments each
- Essential oils test to check your blending and choice of oils. This is in two parts, the first of which checks your blending strengths and the second, which is multi-choice and can be completed using your workbooks, checks you workbooks have been completed correctly.
Workbooks
As part of this course you will be provided with three workbooks, covering aromatherapy theory, essential oil, and carrier oils. The workbooks are designed for you to produce your own guidance documents which you use when you return to practice.
Theory
The theory component is divided into 21 bite-sized modules, each accompanied by a short quiz to help you assess your understanding as you progress. The course provides in-depth coverage of 42 essential oils and 19 carrier oils. With access to detailed information on the platform and through your own research, you’ll complete your workbooks, building a comprehensive foundation in essential oils.

Using oils with your treatments
This course will teach you to produce client specific blends for each of your treatments.
Producing products for your clients
This course includes producing products for your clients. You need to ensure you carry out a full consultation, as with all of the your clients, but you will be able to produce a range of products to sell to your clients. This could be a roller ball to help with anxiety, an essential oils spray to help with sleep, calming bath salts, and face and body creams.
Completing your course
The course must be completed in twelve months. A Calming Influences certificate will be issued once all assessment activities are complete.
